A strong trend at the moment is the resurgence of the classic cocktail dress. This could be a little black dress that’s been sitting in your cupboard for years, or a nice new body hugging style you’ve bought for a special occasion. It doesn’t need to be expensive, in fact there are some fabulous cheap cocktail dresses available online. These can easily be dressed up with carefully selected accessories, and some beautiful evening shoes.
Another strong trend is towards strong color during the day, and this translates to a similar look in the evening. One way this trend is worn is as block colors. We’re seeing gorgeous, vibrant block colors in hot pink, tangerine (the new red) and electric yellow. As part of this trend, we’re also seeing deliberate color clashes. For example, bright pink dresses with red shoes.
